Ice cream eating against plastic waste - Delicious charity action at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof

Eat ice cream, save plastic and enjoy - The company "Lust auf besser Leben" and the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof invite you to eat ice cream together - plastic-free and for a good cause. For every scoop of the new Frankfurter Hof ice cream sold, 1 euro will be donated to the charitable organization on August 23 and 24.

"Environmental and climate protection as well as a sustainable use of our resources are natural components of our corporate management. Every step towards a sense of responsibility and determination to change things is a step in the right direction," says Spiridon Sarantopoulos, General Manager of the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof.

Sarantopoulos also had the idea for the joint campaign with Lust auf besser Leben gGmbH, a non-profit company from Frankfurt that has been committed to using less packaging and plastic for years with various projects and offers. Whether bag stations on Berger Straße together with the trade association, reusable instead of disposable cups with the initiative Cup2gether, whose to-go cup deposit system has now been adopted by FES as #MainBecher, or in the plastic-free working group of the Frankfurt Food Council: there are numerous ways to get involved. More and more companies also want to change something.

"We are very pleased when environmental protection, quality and enjoyment go hand in hand. An exemplary example is shown this summer by the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof. The new Frankfurter Hof ice cream is sold in biodegradable ice cream cups and with edible (vegan) spoons as a to-go variant. It is precisely the small steps that we encounter again and again in everyday life and that make us think," says Marlene Haas, who is in charge of the plastic-free projects.
