Julia Engelmann presents her poetry album in the Jahrhunderthalle

Julia Engelmann presents her poetry album in the Jahrhunderthalle

It's a truly unusual success story that is being written right now by the young Bremen-based Julia Engelmann: After she was taken to a poetry slam event in Bremen by a friend when she was 17, the fire was quickly kindled in her. As she told us during her visit to Frankfurt's Bristol Bar, it was especially the fact that everyone was heard here and could openly present their thoughts that fascinated her.

In the following years she firmly belonged to the poetry slam scene, which then led to an appearance at the Bielefeld Hörsaalslam in 2013. Not actually a particularly glamorous performance, the artist recalls. Especially since this was not the first time she had performed the poem inspired by the song "One Day". Nevertheless, it was to be a performance that would completely change her life. For a year later, a recording of her performance on YouTube became a viral hit with several million views.

Meanwhile, Julia Engelmann describes herself as a full-time poet. She is a three-time Spiegel bestselling author and was on an extremely successful tour across Germany last year. It's a success she can't quite grasp herself yet, but one that she and her family enjoy every moment of. So it's no wonder that mum Bea and dad Jens are not only along for the ride on tour, but are also actively involved.

The reason for the success is quickly identified when listening to Julia Engelmann's poems. With her words Julia Engelmann hits a nerve. She spreads joy of life, gives courage or moves to tears. She impressively demonstrates the power of words. She shows how beautiful and versatile our language can be. The fact that she can move people with her thoughts in such a way is particularly beautiful for her. And, she adds, it is also proof that people are basically more alike than you think.

With her poems Julia Engelmann can perfectly express her thoughts. Until she has found the right words, it can take a few weeks. But if it's thoughts that won't let her go, that are worth sharing, then it means so much to her that she takes that time too. But after her huge success with poetry, the likeable artist is now taking it a step further. What words are for thoughts, music is for feelings. To express her feelings as well, Julia Engelmann has now also recorded an album of her own songs. <link https: www.amazon.de gp product _blank>The result is called "Poetry Album" and presents stirring singer-songwriter sounds with - what could be expected otherwise - haunting lyrics.

With these songs and poems in her luggage, Julia Engelmann is now going on tour again. This one is even bigger than the last one and many dates are already completely sold out. She is not afraid of performing in bigger halls like the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt. "The anticipation and gratitude is always the same," she says. And it's obvious she really means it.

's single "Grüner wird's nicht" is available now. "The Poetry Album" will be released on November 03. <link http: www.eventim.de _blank>In Frankfurt, the "Now, Baby - Poetry & Music"-Tour makes already on 17.10.2017 at the Jahrhunderthalle. A few tickets are still available - so hurry up and get your tickets. You are guaranteed to experience a wonderful evening with lots of emotions and a large portion of joie de vivre - an evening that will end with a smile on your face and a tear in your eye.
