Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt invites to lunch matinee

Necessity is the mother of invention: this also applies to the Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt in Gravenbruch, which is currently unable to offer the popular Sunday brunch in the EssTisch restaurant due to the Corona pandemic. From 16 August, an alternative offer will now start, with which guests can once again enjoy a wide culinary variety every Sunday lunchtime: The "Lunch Matinee"! This will have a changing theme. Guests will be served a wide selection of starters, cheese variations and desserts at the table. The highlight is the live station, where the main courses are prepared in front of the guests.

Guests can expect five different starters, four different main courses, cheese and five different desserts: instead of brunch, the Kempinski Hotel is focusing on a rich lunch selection. "At ‚Lunch Matinee' we send our guests on a culinary journey through Europe," promises hotel director Karina Ansos. In August and September, delicacies from France will be on the table, hence the addition: "Lunch Matinee: Vive la France". "At this, just like at brunch, they can enjoy the full range of dishes."

For example, from the kitchen, appetizers include a seafood selection of shrimp cocktail, mussels, house-pickled lime salmon, oysters and scallops, or a tartare variation of beef tartare, tomato avocado tartare, beluga lentil tartare. The main courses are prepared by chef Daniel Pause and his team at a live cooking station in front of the guests; here, for example, there is pot-au-feu <x>ampersand</x>agrave; la bourgoise with boiled beef, baby carrots, leeks, celery, fennel, radishes and potatoes, cod fillet à la bordelaise or homemade goat's cheese ravioli. The dessert étagère features, for example, chocolate mousse, raspberry éclairs, crème brûlée, apricot tartes and macarons. Makes your mouth water just reading about it, doesn't it?

In addition to the food, diners can look forward to live music.

The lunch will take place every Sunday from 12:30 to 15:00 from 16 August. The price of EUR 75 per person includes an aperitif, house wines, non-alcoholic drinks and coffee specialties in addition to the meal. Children aged six to eleven pay EUR 37.50; infants are invited. Up to 80 guests can dine at the dining table; "still a good two-thirds of our previous brunch attendance," says Karina Ansos. Reservations are required by calling 069 389 88 0 or emailing shiftleader.frankfurt@kempinski.com

Sunday lunch isn't the only way to enjoy Kempinski cuisine, however: The Torschänke and the historic Schoppenhof are open daily from 5:00 p.m. and, as usual, offer Hessian and other specialties in a rustic, cozy atmosphere. Cocktails and smaller dishes have the K-Lounge and the associated lake terrace with a view of the hotel's own lake open, daily from 11:30. On balmy summer evenings, the terrace invites you to experience a spectacle of light, water and music with the hourly water straws.
