Klaa Paris thrilled the visitors and the mayor

Klaa Paris thrilled the visitors and the mayor

After the popular carnival procession through Heddernheim had to be cancelled last year for stormy reasons, the fools paraded through Klaa Paris today - defying wind and rain - in good spirits. And many visitors from Frankfurt and the surrounding area had come to celebrate and cheer along the route. This year's guests included Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann, who made a very clear statement: "Spending Shrove Tuesday in Klaa Paris is a matter of honour". No wonder, the procession is one of the oldest in our beautiful state and thus makes Heddernheim the secret carnival stronghold of Frankfurt, which attracts more than a hundred thousand visitors every year and transforms into a colorful fool's paradise.

"For me, the parade in Klaa Paris also has a very personal touch. I grew up in the neighbouring part of town and never missed a single parade when I was young," Feldmann recalls. "We are happy that the procession could take place this year. With 111 procession numbers, we also had a lot to offer again - from the humorous to the political, everything was there," said Dietmar Pontow, chairman of the Klaa Paris procession association.

Feldmann, who received honorary citizenship of the Zuggemeinschaft Klaa Paris last November, expressed his pride: "I am happy to be part of this tradition. It's great what the Zuggemeinschaft Klaa Paris puts on every year. This is voluntary commitment in action that has an impact far beyond the city limits." How well that goes down with the people of Frankfurt, you could feel again today in the great atmosphere along the way of the procession
