Kobelt Zoo opens at the end of May

Actually, the season always starts on May 01 for the volunteer-run Kobelt Zoo in Frankfurt's Schwanheim district. But this year, like everywhere else, everything is a little different. And so the start of the new season has been delayed by a month. Now the small zoo opens its doors on 31 May - and only under special conditions. Instead of Saturday and Sunday, the Kobelt Zoo will only open on Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm until further notice. During that time, only a maximum of 50 people will be allowed in the facility at any one time.

Wearing mouth-to-nose protection is mandatory in the entrance and restroom areas; on the rest of the zoo grounds, it is recommended but not mandatory. Important: You must bring your own masks, none can be provided on site. The zoo can currently only be visited on the designated circular route. The playground, the reptile and chinchilla house will remain closed and the sale of food and drinks is also suspended for the time being. In addition, a ban on feeding and petting individual animal species is in effect throughout the zoo.

The situation is incredibly difficult, especially for a small zoo like this one. Therefore, it should be natural for all visitors to support the volunteers by everyone abiding by the rules. And at the exit to leave a small donation is of course also welcome.

To be able to receive as many visitors as possible at the start, the Kobelt Zoo will also be open on 01.06.2020 from 11 am - 5 pm. Thus, this beautiful place in Schwanheim is finally again a nice alternative to the large Frankfurt Zoo, which is often booked up for weeks due to the current conditions.
