Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann visits filming of 'The Bank Hacker'

(ffm) Young, shy computer geek Jeremy Peeters doesn't have it easy: his father committed suicide after a banker convinced him to invest all his savings in fraudulent stocks, his traumatized sister doesn't talk to strangers, and his mother is in big financial trouble. Jeremy is a nice guy who has never had a run-in with the police. But when an international gang of thugs offers him a place on their team, he doesn't hesitate. For Jeremy, the heist is a golden opportunity to fix his mother's financial problems and get revenge for his father's suicide. Will he succeed?

The answer is provided by the series "The Bank Hacker", which is currently filming in Frankfurt and other locations. On Tuesday, November 6, the set was set up in Metzlerstraße. Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann visited the filming in Sachsenhausen, informed himself about working in an international production. "Whether it's an economic thriller, a crime thriller or a comedy - Frankfurt offers a great and versatile film backdrop," said Feldmann. "The mix of high-rise silhouettes and apple wine coziness is unique and highly interesting for international film production."

"The Bank Hacker" is based on a true story that took place in Belgium. Filming will be in English and Flemish, and the series will air in several countries. "I think this production reflects our city very well. Frankfurt's residents come from all over the world. Some are not drawn to the Main entirely by choice, they come for their jobs. But, I keep hearing, those who have to leave Frankfurt again rarely do so without a pain of parting."

"Frankfurt is a great city," says Lies Lahousse, line producer of the series. "The collaboration is going great. I would be very happy to come back to Frankfurt."

The largest independent Flemish film production DeMensen developed "The Bank Hacker" together with the world distributor "RedArrow". The series tells the story of a digital bank theft. The Frankfurt film production "Stocked Film" is in charge of the shooting.
