Magistrate of the City of Frankfurt decides on free swimming pool visits for children

Good news for all little water rats: The magistrate of the city of Frankfurt has decided shortly before Christmas that children and young people up to 14 years have free admission to the swimming pools of the Bäderbetriebe.

Mayor Peter Feldmann was very pleased with this decision: "This is a great signal — after the free admission to the municipal museums, we are now also creating additional social participation at the swimming pools." He said the move was particularly pleasing for families: "Many can't easily afford a visit to the swimming pool — that's changing now." This will also help some children improve their swimming skills, he said.

Sports department head Markus Frank is also convinced that a very good decision has been made here: "It is my sports policy goal to strengthen children's swimming skills and to promote exercise and sport as a pillar of our children's mental and motor development." The decision is to be brought to the city council in January. Already to 1.February the free entrance could be then converted. So, puts already times the bathing things ready!
