The Main-Taunus-Zentrum (MTZ) is celebrating its 60th birthday from 26 September to 5 October 2024. Visitors can expect a varied program with exciting activities, competitions and special highlights.
Daily competitions and big prizes
Every day, visitors have the chance to take part in a buzzer competition and win numerous prizes from MTZ stores and giveaways. Particularly exciting: a 600-euro voucher will be raffled off every day, the winner of which will be notified live on stage by telephone call.
The highlight is the raffle for a center voucher worth 60,000 euros. Anyone who hits the safe symbol on the buzzer three times has the chance to enter the correct numerical code and win the top prize.
Opening with mayor and helicopter flights
The celebrations will begin on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. with the official opening by the mayor of Sulzbach, Elmar Bociek. Traditionally, a birthday cake will be cut. Afterwards, visitors can explore the MTZ from a bird's eye view on a helicopter tour.
Music and entertainment for young and old
Various live bands will provide musical highlights during the anniversary celebrations. Younger visitors are also catered for: on Saturdays, September 28 and October 5, 2024, children can meet well-known comic characters and take souvenir photos.
Finale with Linda Teodosiu
The grand finale will be a performance by well-known singer Linda Teodosiu on October 5, 2024 from 8 pm on the MTZ stage. Teodosiu, who has successfully toured with Peter Maffay for many years, will thrill the audience with her performance.
MTZ in transition: a look into the future
The anniversary motto "MTZhoch60" not only stands for the milestone birthday, but also for the future of the center. The MTZ will undergo major changes in the coming months: In spring 2024, the new "Food Garden" will open on a 9,000 m² area with eight restaurants. The focus here is on sustainability - the free-standing buildings are made of wood and surrounded by regional planting.
2025 will also see a comprehensive modernization of the shopping street. New seating areas and modern plant elements will make the visit even more pleasant for visitors.
Center Manager is optimistic about the future
Center Manager Daniel Quaas is enthusiastic about the upcoming changes and the birthday activities: "The MTZ has always adapted to the wishes of its customers and will continue to grow in the future."
Since its opening in 1964, the Main-Taunus-Zentrum has undergone impressive development and is now one of the leading shopping centers in the Rhine-Main region with 170 stores, a wide range of restaurants and numerous services.
