Meridian Spa & Fitness Turns 35 - Fitness 3.5 Actions

05.09.2019 | 12:01 Clock | Sport

The large Hamburg-based Meridian Spa & Fitness group is celebrating its 35th anniversary and setting off fireworks of unique measures for its 38,000 or so members. "Fitness 3.5" is the name of the initiative, which looks at the "fitness future" based on a Meridian Trend Bureau study and responds to society's modern fitness needs with a series of special workouts and a socially oriented employee campaign at all eight facilities - including the one at Skyline Plaza Frankfurt (Europa-Allee 4). "Today, it's no longer about slim and trim and higher, faster, further. Those who want to be fit are looking for mindfulness, health for body, mind and soul and want to feel good holistically," says managing director Christin Lüdemann.

"Fitness 3.5" brings the birthday number 35 into a digital, future-oriented context. This fits the trend, as the fitness and wellness world is undergoing a lot of change, becoming more digital on the one hand and in need of rest on the other.

The centerpiece of the entire campaign is the "Fitness 3.5-Study", which Meridian Spa & Fitness developed with the renowned trend office of Prof. Peter Wippermann. Supplemented by an online member survey, it brings scientifically sound to the point: the fitness world is changing - work, leisure and sport are merging. Fitness is becoming a unifying experience that should above all be fun. Fitness concepts of the future will include the mental level of people and will become even more technical and digital. In addition, they deal with the influence of hormones, with super food and have long been more than cardio, aerobics and functional training.

In the context of the anniversary, further new and surprising formats are established and offered to members as "Crazy Workouts". These include outdoor yoga sessions where members are allowed to bring their (well-behaved) four-legged friends, athletic-performance workouts with sprint parachutes, and more.

Furthermore, Meridian is offering more and more boutique offerings for different target groups, such as seniors, runners, or curvy people who crave cosiness and equality of interest.
