Mountain Christmas on the Johannisberg

05.12.2016 | 14:59 Clock | Favorite places
Mountain Christmas on the Johannisberg

For the 17th time, the "Bergweihnacht auf dem Johannisberg" in Bad Nauheim took place again this year in bright winter weather. The Bergweihnacht is not only a very beautiful, regional Christmas market, it also serves a good purpose. Derived from the age-old tradition of tithing, the associations, schools, institutions, kindergartens and daycare centers involved in the Bergweihnacht Johannisberg voluntarily support a worthy action, institution or initiative of the Bad Nauheim region with ten percent of their Bergweihnachts proceeds.

The Christmas market took place from 02-04 December 2016 and offered plenty of entertainment and attractions. The Bergweihnacht 2016 kicked off with a torchlight procession up the Johannisberg mountain, which has been inhabited for around 6000 years, followed by the opening by the mayor of Bad Nauheim Armin Häuser and Dr. Johannes M. Peil, senior physician at the Bad Nauheim Sports Clinic. Guests were able to enjoy a wide variety of musical performances throughout the weekend, try their hand at Christmas crafts and enjoy specialties from the region, including wonderful Turkish manti. For the little ones there was a lot to see, the big carousel was of course permanently occupied.

In short: The 18. Bergweihnacht you should make a note for December 2017 and in between visit the scenic and historically very charming Johannisberg in Bad Nauheim
