There is a big sigh of relief: finally we can experience culture again. Still with restrictions, to be sure, but we'll gladly put up with them after the many months of abstinence. This is just as nice for fans as it is for artists, who can now finally perform on live stages again. A very special place for culture this summer is the summer meadow at the Jahrhunderthalle. Here, the open-air programme "ins freie!" ensures an extremely varied live programme. Markus Gardian, together with a collective of Frankfurt's cultural activists, will bring a concert, DJ and cultural program from a wide variety of genres to the stage.
In addition to the Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt as an open air location, the Brotfabrik, Club Zoom and artist Annette Gloser are primarily involved in the programming. But also numerous other local activists such as Africa Alive, EOS Radio, Jan Cönig & Fee, DJ Team Lazy or the Women's Music Office contribute their cultural input.
For example, the popular concert series Music Sneak is included. This features three music acts who are not revealed to the audience until the performance. Under the motto "energized by Süwag", Süwag is committed to promoting young musical talent at both shows and is supporting the live concert experience on August 22 and September 26, 2021. "The Music Sneak energized by Süwag is an energetic music format for up-and-coming artists and we are very happy to be part of it and thus support the regional music scene in line with our value proposition - My Power Locally," says Tobias Leistner, sponsorship manager at Süwag.
Besides the Music Sneak, ins freie! also has plenty of other highlights to offer: The program focuses on the best selection of the local artist and music scene, which truly does not have to hide from the all-German league. This includes an evening with Brandt Brauer Frick (Wiesbaden) + Stimming (Gießen), Emirsiam & Friends - an evening curated by Frankfurt singer Aren Emirze with numerous well-known local musicians - the release concert of the OhOhOhs and many guests, Revolte Tanzbein, Frau Doktor and a reading with Helge Timmerberg, who was born in Hessen but now travels around the world. Relaxed party evenings of the Lazy DJ Crew around Weller and Pedo Knopp with live acts, comedy performances of Erwin, Henni Nachtsheim and Rick Kavanian as well as poetry slams, complete the program.
Also supraregional holds ins freie! at the Jahrhunderthalle Sommerwiese many highlights ready.
Concerts by established German music acts such as Alice Phoebe Lou, Anna Depenbusch, Kadavar, Alli Neumann, Jeremias, Großstadtgeflüster and even well-known international artists such as Manu Katché and Les Yeux D'la Tete from France, Jungle by Night (Amsterdam) or Reverend Beat-Man (Switzerland) round off the programme.
Three Saturdays (07.08. / 21.08. / 25.09.) belong to innovative hip-hop. Among them are Lucio101, Lugatti & 9ine, Eunique, Dexter, Ebow, Layla, Lgoony, Ahzumjot, but also numerous local acts.
In the field of electronic music there are two highlights. The Centralstation Darmstadt's guest concert with avant-garde band Apparat and the day curated by EOS Radio with Roi Perez, Roman Flügel, Anna Hjalmarsson, Marie Montexier, DJ Slyngshot and Mor Elian.
With ins freie! the local cultural and event scene is supported. And to ensure that this is as relaxed as possible for all visitors, a strict hygiene concept has been developed for the Jahrhunderthalle's small car park, which is surrounded by meadows and trees and has been made summer-ready with tables and benches. This includes online check-in via the Luca app, mandatory masks on the premises - but not at the table - and gastronomic seat service. There relaxed summer evenings are guaranteed, which will soon be embellished with even more program.
