New corona regulations in Hesse: Frankfurt Zoo and Museums Reopen

The lockdown has been extended, as expected, until March 28 for the time being at yesterday's very lengthy negotiations between the federal and state governments. At the same time, however, some opening perspectives were decided. Then today, the Hessian Corona Cabinet also met to discuss yesterday's decisions for Hesse. The Prime Minister of Hesse, Volker Bouffier, has now announced what the regulations for Hesse will look like in the coming weeks. For Hesse's Prime Minister Volker Bouffier, the resolutions centre on a triad consisting of caution, trust and responsibility. Caution, because due to the again increasing number of cases and the spreading mutants, actually no openings are possible. At the same time, however, there should be more trust in the population - also in the fact that everyone is aware of their responsibility towards themselves and their fellow human beings. Because only if the numbers do not increase much more significantly, the openings, which were decided for Hesse, can also apply in the longer term.

All those who once again wanted to go to the zoo or the museum may be particularly happy. This will soon be possible again - after registration and providing all important contact details. A prerequisite for the openings of the institutions is also that the incidence value is between 50 and 100 throughout Hesse. "I am in close contact with the museums, the Institute for Urban History and the zoo and we are currently examining how we can implement the expected requirements of the state in a timely manner. It certainly won't be equally successful at all the houses and will also have an impact on the visitor quotas available, but what matters is that culture has been taken into account in the relaxations. We have good, tried and tested hygiene concepts and will deal with the situation responsibly," says Ina Hartwig, head of the Department of Culture. Exactly when the municipal museums, the Institute for Urban History and the zoo will open can be found on the homepages of the institutions in the next few days. "We are working with hock pressure on an opening scenario and I am confident that we can open many of the houses in the coming week," says Hartwig.

What else has been decided for Hesse and how the regulations look in detail, you can read here:

The existing measures and restrictions will remain in place until 28. March.

In addition, the following relaxations were agreed from 8. March agreed:

Private Meetings

.

Restricting and reducing contacts remains an important tool to limit the pandemic. Therefore, restrictions will continue to be necessary even if pandemic developments allow for relaxations. Accordingly, as of Monday, meetings of two households of no more than 5 people are allowed. Children 14 and under do not count.

Shopping / Retail

Depot stores, garden centers, nurseries as well as bookstores may open.

All other stores are allowed to offer "Click & Meet," which is advice and sales with prior appointment and data collection. Access restrictions also apply: One person per 40 square feet or part thereof of retail space.

Sports and Leisure

Recreational and amateur sports are possible according to the extended contact rules, i.e. with up to two households with a maximum of 5 people.

Children under the age of 14 are also allowed to play outdoor sports in groups. Sports facilities may also remain open on site.

In gyms, one-on-one appointments may be used - if proper hygiene precautions are taken. Only one person per 40 square meters of training space is allowed (data collection).

Recreation and Culture

Museums, castles, memorials, zoos, zoos, and botanical gardens may open with comprehensive sanitation. An appointment is necessary. Contact details must be left so that contacts can be followed up.

Services / Personal Care

Personal care service businesses are allowed to open under strict conditions. These include appointment scheduling and contact information collection. If a mask cannot be worn throughout treatment, a daily rapid test should be available or self-testing should be performed on site.

Quarantine

After a positive self-test, the person tested must immediately go into quarantine and also perform a PCR test.

Entryers from virus variant areas must enter a 14-day quarantine. A reduction due to a negative Corona test is not possible.
