New exhibition in the district office Bahnhofsviertel

13.09.2016 | 16:22 Clock | Culture
New exhibition in the district office Bahnhofsviertel

(pia) The district office in the Bahnhofsviertel, Gutleutstraße 16a, will be showing projects and concepts for open space in the district from 8 September. Public and private open space, from streets to backyards, is of central importance to the quality of life in the Bahnhofsviertel.

The district is almost completely sealed. Houses, streets, squares and parking lots take up 95 percent of the land. The block interiors must accommodate garbage cans, ferry bikes, and cars, and the streets and squares are intensively used by street traffic. This use in a confined space, the colorful life and hustle and bustle of residents and guests, shops and workplaces, is what makes the neighborhood so appealing.

The exhibition presents projects that show how public and private open spaces can be changed and designed despite intensive use, creating an increase in the quality of stay. It will be on display until November 4. Opening and viewing hours at the Bahnhofsviertel district office: Monday and Friday, 12 to 2 p.m., and Tuesday and Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m., or by appointment at telephone 069/25667669.
