No more restrictions and time slots at Frankfurt Zoo

No more restrictions and time slots at Frankfurt Zoo

A little more normality is returning to Frankfurt Zoo: From 25 October, the time slots and necessity of an online purchase of zoo tickets are eliminated - in short: a spontaneous visit to the zoo is possible again. In addition, visitors will again be able to stay as long as they wish. From this day on, tickets will no longer be available only in the online shop, but also at the zoo ticket office. However, the 3G rule for zoo admission will still apply.

After the lockdown, the zoo was allowed to reopen, but for several months with sometimes severely limited attendance. As a result, a visit to the zoo had to be planned well in advance, as tickets for certain days and time slots could only be booked in the zoo's online shop. Especially on weekends, the time slots were quickly booked up. This will no longer happen.

"This is good news for all zoo visitors: from 25 October, the person limit at the zoo can be lifted. This will make it easier to visit, the time slots will no longer apply and the zoo can once again be visited all day," says Dr. Ina Hartwig, Head of the Department of Culture and Science. Tickets will once again be available at the ticket office and group and after-work discounts will also be offered again. However, those who wish can still buy their tickets conveniently in the online shop. The advantage: Those who already have a ticket can use a separate entrance lane at peak times and thus get into the zoo faster.

Until further notice, the 3G rule applies to a visit to the zoo, as well as masks are mandatory in all indoor areas. 3G rule means that only those who are fully vaccinated, recovered or up-to-date tested can visit the zoo. Children under the age of six are exempt from the rule.

Winter opening hours will resume Oct. 31. The zoo will then be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The great ape house will remain closed until further notice to protect the animals living there from infection with the Corona virus.
