No trams from the main station to Eintracht's Europa League match

(ffm) Football fans who want to go to Eintracht's Europa League match against Lazio Rom at Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena on Thursday, October 4, will have to part with something they are used to: There will be no trams running between the main station and the stadium for this match. The reason is track construction work, for which the low-traffic period of the Hessian autumn holidays is being used. The S-Bahn is also affected by construction work.

That doesn't mean fans won't be able to get to and from the stadium, as rail and bus services remain good - just a little different.

More trains, more buses, more stops

The RMV offers reinforcements on the S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 as well as on regional services. In addition, regional trains on RMV line 70 will make additional stops at the stadium. However, due to construction work between Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof and the airport, fewer additional S-Bahn journeys can be offered than usual for Eintracht matches. As a tip, the S-Bahn line S7, which departs from the main station concourse in the direction of the stadium and offers more free seats than the S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 in the underground station, as well as the regional trains of line 70.

For the trams to the stadium, the starting point this time is the Südbahnhof. It is easy to reach by regional trains, suburban trains and underground trains. From there, in addition to the trains of the stadium tram line 20, bus lines 61 and 80 can also be used, which run at frequent intervals to the Commerzbank Arena.

After the match, numerous buses and trams will be available for the return journey towards Südbahnhof.

Linie 15 discontinued, Linie 51 reinforced

Also passengers who are not in the mood for football should inform themselves about their best connection before starting their journey. The RMV service telephone at 069/24248024 and the timetable information service at <link http: www.rmv.de _blank>

are available for this purpose.

Because in addition to the construction work along the U4 and the track construction at the Stresemannallee/Gartenstraße stop, there are further changes due to the football match: Tram line 15 will stop running from around 7pm, as the trams are needed for the stadium traffic. As an alternative, the tram lines 20, 61 and 78 will be available to their passengers between Südbahnhof and Triftstraße, in addition to the joint line 16/12. From Triftstraße to Haardtwaldplatz, passengers can switch to bus line 51, which runs every 10 to 15 minutes until after midnight on this section
