Opel Zoo opens as early as Monday

While the Frankfurt Zoo is still working on contact tracking and a sale of the coveted online tickets is targeted for the middle of next week, the Kronberg Opel Zoo is already going ahead on Monday. Coupled are the opening of the zoo and the conditions tied to it with the incidence number in Hesse. With a 7-day incidence between 50 and below 100 - as is currently the case - zoo visitors must register online in advance, book a fixed appointment and leave their contact details, which will be kept for 4 weeks for tracking and then destroyed.

The portal for online registration is now available on the homepage www.opel-zoo.de.

And so is the procedure:

After providing contact details, one of three possible time slots per day within the next two weeks - namely 9 to 11.30 h, 12 to 14.30 h or 15 to 17.30 h - can be booked here. Important: Tickets must be booked for every single visitor to the zoo, for every adult and every child (including those under the age of three whose admission is free), also for holders of annual passes and also for those who already have admission vouchers. Payment must also be made in advance via paypal (is also possible as a guest) or by credit card. A pdf will then be created for each individual guest and sent to the person placing the order. Each individual pdf must be printed and only the number of people for whom the pdf has been printed and presented at the box office can then be admitted on the day of the visit. Unfortunately, it is not possible to make corrections afterwards at the zoo box office. Ticket reservations by email or telephone are also not possible.

Up to 500 people can be admitted per visit time slot, mind you only with prior online reservation and payment. Double booking of consecutive time slots is not possible, meaning all visitors must leave the zoo grounds by the end of the booked slot. "This procedure has been agreed with our supervisory authorities and is now valid for the next two weeks," says Zoo Director Dr. Thomas Kauffels. He continues that the reservation of the zoo visit is possible since Saturday, 6.3.21 via the homepage of the Opel Zoo.

When visiting the zoo, of course, the general Corona rules are to be observed: Keep your distance, masks are compulsory in indoor areas, especially the toilets and the general hygiene rules such as sneezing into the crook of your arm, frequent and proper hand washing. Annual passes that were valid on November 2, 2020 will be automatically renewed.

More zoos open

In addition to the Opel Zoo, other zoos open, including also on Monday the Vivarium in Darmstadt. However, only with a limited offer, because only the outdoor areas will be accessible to visitors*. A prior online appointment reservation is necessary and will be available from Monday on the website of the Vivarium. In addition to compliance with hygiene measures, there is also the obligation to wear a mask. The playground and zoo shop will remain closed for the time being. The regular opening hours and admission prices apply.

The Wildpark Alte Fasanerie Hanau opens from Wednesday, March 10 - but only for registered participants*Innen of guided tours. Two two-hour guided tours are offered daily in the morning from 9 to 11 a.m. as well as from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and in the afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. as well as 2.30 to 4.30 p.m.. Since only a limited number of visitors can take part in the tours, a binding registration with full name, address and phone number is necessary via the WildparkPostfach on the homepage. Only after a written confirmation and confirmation by email can participate in the guided tour. The guided tours cost 10 euros per child and 12 euros per adult. For holders of annual passes, the cost is 7 euros per person.

As soon as there is news about the opening of the Frankfurt Zoo, we will of course let you know.
