Open-air museum Hessenpark receives visitors again

It is always nice news when openings of zoos, museums or botanical gardens can be reported. At the same time, however, it must always be borne in mind that these openings may only be of very short duration in view of constantly rising infection figures. Nevertheless, we would like to keep you informed about the numerous reopenings of excursion destinations in and around Frankfurt. One such reopening also concerns the Hessenpark Open-Air Museum, which has been welcoming visitors again since Saturday, March 13. "We start the season on March 13 and, pandemic events permitting, will open the museum grounds daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.over the next few months," confirms museum director Jens Scheller.

The procedure for a visit should be familiar by now: All visitors must register in advance - that's the current legal requirement. A form is available at www.hessenpark.de/anmeldung. "Fill out, send and bring the confirmation mail printed out, then nothing stands in the way of a museum visit in the Hessenpark," explains Jens Scheller. Per household must be filled out a form.

For all those who have no Internet access and no e-mail address, the Hessenpark offers alternatively a telephone pre-registration. Interested parties can leave their preferred date and contact details by calling 06081 588-339. In addition, a form must then be filled out on site on the day of the visit. "It was important to us to also offer a visit opportunity to those guests who are exclusively analog," emphasizes Scheller. Nevertheless, the museum director has respect for long queues at the ticket office: "We have to observe this and, if necessary, tighten it up."

Even on the extensive museum grounds, the following applies: show consideration and adhere to the hygiene and distance rules. The minimum distance to other persons is 1.50 metres, groupings are to be avoided. Masks (OP or FFP masks) are compulsory in all buildings and shops. Initially, only those buildings that have separate entrances and exits are accessible. The shops on the market square, such as the bakery and the market shop, may only be entered by a maximum of two people. There, as well as at the inn "Zum Adler" and at the Martinsklause, snacks and drinks are offered exclusively for takeaway.

Note: Those who only come to the market place to shop must also fill out a registration form and hand it in at the cash desk.
