As Reinhard Fendrich sang so beautifully: Long live sport! This is especially true on 07 July in the Brentanobad and the adjacent stadium. Then the big FamilySportFest will be celebrated here for the seventh time. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., clubs from the region will present more than 35 sports - on land and on water. This is probably the largest selection of different sports to be discovered in one place in Frankfurt. The perfect opportunity to get a taste of both well-known and lesser-known sports.
"Behind our ‚Sport City Frankfurt' is a large sports family of clubs and organizations that fills this festival with life every year. The FamilySportFest can rightly be called the ‚showcase of popular sport'," says Markus Frank, head of the sports department.
Whether Quidditch, volleyball, canoeing or diving - there will be something for young and old. On a health mile, visitors will learn about performance diagnostics procedures such as lactate tests and receive advice for their individual training programme. Enjoying and feasting is the order of the day at the trendy food truck area. The FamilySportFest is intended for everyone who wants to try out sports and exercise or simply enjoys a day outdoors with food, drink and entertainment. On top of that, festival visitors get free admission to the swimming pool. That's a particularly attractive bonus in summer temperatures! So be sure not to forget swimming and sports attire!
With the Brentanobad as part of the event area, the festival is ideally equipped for a wide variety of water sports. As with the sports on land, the program on water is also versatile. The FamilySportFest also has a few highlights up its sleeve outside the stage and hands-on programme: the Bad Nauheim and Frankfurt sports clinics will be offering free performance diagnostics and a sports medicine check-up. Culinary variety will be on offer at the festival's food truck area, which enjoyed particular popularity last year and will therefore not be missing from the seventh edition of the FamilienSportFest. With a range from Asian to Oriental, there should be something for every taste. And once again, there will be plenty of opportunities for the youngsters to play and exercise. Those who come to Rödelheim on 7 July quite sporty with the bike, can use the opportunity and this at the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) under presentation of the purchase receipt coded.
The FamilienSportFest is an initiative of the Sportkreis Frankfurt, the Frankfurter Bäder, the Sportamt, the Sportklinik Bad Nauheim and the TG Bornheim.
