Playpark Hochheim reopened

28 meters of sliding fun: the eleven-meter-high tower was inaugurated

The Hochheim Play Park, part of the RhineMain Regional Park and popular destination for families and children, makes its total area accessible to visitors again in time for the summer vacations. The Hochheim Play Park, part of the RheinMain Regional Park and popular destination for families and children in the Main-Taunus-Kreis, makes its total area accessible to visitors again in time for the summer vacations. Today, the tower was opened by District Administrator Michael Cyriax and Hochheim's mayor Dirk Westedt opened.

From Friday, 21. July 2023 visitors can enjoy the adventure playground again.

The renewal of the park's eye-catcher is particularly exciting: a new tower has been built on the hilltop, replacing the old wooden tower in the same place. Climbers can now ascend the tower's floors via ascending nets to a seven-meter-high net. There is an impressive 28-meter slide that transports visitors back to the bottom of the hill, overcoming a 14-meter height difference.

The landscape is also still being redesigned during the ongoing work. A spiral path around the hill leads to the tower to ensure that parents and grandparents can easily reach the playground equipment. Until now, the adults had mostly waited at the bottom.

Families report: New tower with slide not recommended for toddlers

The play park is gradually reopening to visitors and promises a fun and varied experience for the whole family. We spoke to the first families who climbed the tower and tested the slide with their children. The result was clear: The slide is recommended for brave children of preschool age - not for toddlers. Mr. Peter Schmitz of the Regionalpark MainPortal gGmbH recommends an age of 6 years for the use of the tower. Only children should use the slide who can independently climb into the climbing tower and up to the slide entrance without assistance. Furthermore, the slide should not be used with synthetic fiber clothing (polyester, etc.).

After the summer vacations, it is planned to proceed with the second phase of construction. A circular path is to be created and a boules court and smaller playground equipment are planned. 2024 then follows the third construction phase.

First impressions of the reopened adventure playground in Hochheim has Julia of Happy Kids Ausflugstipps for you compiled, which together with RheinMain4Family has already visited the playground before the opening: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cu6n9nGoYkS/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==.
