The pre-sale for the anniversary season of the Brothers Grimm Festival has got off to a good start. More than 30,000 tickets have already been sold, and the school performances are almost all sold out. Tickets for the festival's supporting program can now also be purchased. This year's supporting program also promises plenty of variety and entertainment.
One of the highlights is the musical cabaret evening "Frauen an der Steuer" by Judith Jakob and Melanie Haupt on 21 June 2024. The duo already presented a successful cabaret program about the healthcare system last year. This year, they promise a humorous and musical evening about the absurdities of our tax system.
On 30 June 2024, Prof. Dr. Holger Ehrhardt will once again be a guest at the festival with his reading "Einblicke hinter die Dornenhecke". The renowned German scholar will speak with charm and wit about the background and contexts of this year's fairy tale productions and the Grimm contemporary.
On 8. On July 8, actress and presenter Claudia Brunnert invites you to the annual "Open Stage" charity gala, where the festival ensemble will perform everything from personal favorites, instrumental music and comedy to poems and songs written especially for the evening.
For young visitors, the successful children's book author Susanne Glanzner will present a reading for children aged 4 and over from her work "Kalle Komet" on July 14, 2024. This time she will be reading from the third volume of the Kalle Komet series: "Die Fußball-Meisterschaft".
On July 19, 2024, Jonas Milke invites you to an evening of songs and poems under the title "Gereimnisse". For many years, Jonas Milke - known in Hanau as the long-standing director of the theater group Die Dramateure" and a member of the Brothers Grimm Festival team since 2019 - has been reciting his poems on a wide variety of occasions. In the meantime, so much material has accumulated that it makes sense to present the best in a full-length program in the Walloon Ruins.
In addition, on 20 July 2024 there will be the live radio play "Fürstenglück - Ein Unfall bringt die Liebe" by Die Trivialisten, the theater group led by Dominik Meurer, actor and long-time acting teacher for the festival's vacation workshops. Spoken live on stage and accompanied by live sounds, they tell a romantic aristocratic story in good "aristocratic novel style" and with subtle humor, transporting their audience into a world full of glamour, drama and great emotions.
Finally, the annual Fairytale Cup will take place on 22 July 2024, in which the festival team will compete against the sponsors' team. Following the soccer retirement of Helmut Potthoff, Benedikt Selzner will take over the captaincy of the Festival team for the first time.
