Progress on the reconstruction of the Lyoner Straße/Schwanheimer Ufer traffic junction

First section is finished - Mainuferweg is available again

To provide better and barrier-free access to the Mainufer, the city of Frankfurt am Main is reconstructing the Lyoner Straße/Schwanheimer Ufer intersection in Niederrad. A section has now been completed by the Office of Road Construction and Development: Cyclists from the Mainuferweg can cross Schwanheimer Ufer street barrier-free via a newly built ford. The traffic lights required for this were put into operation by the Road Traffic Office on Monday, January 30. It provides at the place for a safe regulation of the traffic. Connected with it the Mainuferweg, which was closed last because of the building work, is again opened for the foot and bicycle traffic.

Not finished is further the new crossing east of the Lyoner road. Pedestrians and cyclists who are on Lyoner Street and want to continue to the Mainufer, use the existing bridge over the street Schwanheimer Ufer until then. Alternatively, it is possible to use the traffic lights a little further east not far from the Niederräder Bridge. The pedestrian and bicycle path that is being built on the southwest side of the intersection is still under construction. A temporary solution, however, ensures a progress.

A completion of the work is scheduled according to current planning by the end of May this year at the latest.
