As the saying goes: necessity is the mother of invention. This has also shown during the lockdown 2020, under which just restaurateurs and retailers had to suffer extremely. This gave Boris, Anatoli and Galyna an idea: to support the industry, the three founded the Frankfurt-based company Quarantini and launched a gin on the market, with €5 donated to those affected for every bottle sold. After one and a half years, a handsome 175,000€ was raised. You can say: the plan worked!
More: after the end of the lockdown Qurantini should remain a "Social Dry Gin". Therefore, in August 2021, the young company - in consultation with its customers - decided on a new donation purpose: clean drinking water for people in developing countries. Today, in cooperation with Viva con Aqua, one person in Zambia is supplied with drinking water for one year for every bottle sold. An idea that had to be rewarded: QUARANTINI - Social Dry Gin was awarded the about-drinks Beverages Award 2021 in the category "Innovation and Creativity".
The about-drinks Beverages Award was awarded for the fourth time and refers to all beverage categories. Managing director and co-founder Boris Markic is extremely pleased about this award: "We are overwhelmed. Especially because it is an industry award and therefore many experts helped to decide. It makes me really proud to see that our gin is so well received by people!"
Located on the Hauptwache, Quarantini is a genuinely original Frankfurt company that celebrates its two-year anniversary on April 17, 2022. There are now six different Social Dry Gins available for purchase: The Original Dry Gin and the non-alcoholic Gin Virgin, the Barrel Aged, a wintery Gin, the Black Gin and a berry Rosé Gin.
