The Frankfurt ice rink can look back on an outstanding winter season. In December 2024 and January 2025, more than 270,000 visitors flocked to the traditional sports venue - more than ever before. Public ice skating was particularly popular: around 195,000 people took advantage of the offer in these two months.
The ice rink also recorded impressive visitor numbers for 2024 as a whole. A total of around 700,000 sports enthusiasts visited the ice rink, including 362,000 public skaters. These figures confirm the importance of Frankfurt's ice rink as a central venue for leisure, club and school sports.
"The record attendance at our ice rink shows how popular ice sports are in Frankfurt," emphasizes Lord Mayor and Head of Sports Mike Josef. He points to the special infrastructure of the hall, which offers an outdoor rink and a covered outdoor ice rink in addition to the main rink. "The high capacity utilization during the winter months underlines the need to continue to maintain the ice rink for clubs, schools, recreational athletes and as the home of the 'Lions'."
With a capacity of up to 7,000 guests, Frankfurt's ice rink is one of the largest and best-attended of its kind in Germany. In view of the continuing rush of visitors, its status as a permanent institution in Frankfurt's sports and leisure offerings seems more secure than ever.
