Redesign of the street Alt-Nied begins

Appearance will be made more appealing

(ffm) Starting Monday, August 6, the street Alt-Nied will be redesigned in the area between Franz-Simon-Straße and Oeserstraße. The aim of the work is to create an appealing and tidy appearance of the street. The work is being carried out as part of the "Schöneres Frankfurt" extension programme.

Routes and pipelines have already been laid since April this year, so that road construction can now follow. In the aforementioned area, the parking spaces will be structurally bordered and structured on one side by a total of seven new tree locations. The future four-metre wide roadway will continue to allow the passage of public buses as well as cycling against the one-way street. All crossings and the bus stop will be barrier-free.

The lighting of the street will be renewed and brought up to the current state of the art. In the course of the reconstruction, an underfloor glass container will also be produced. Assuming no disruptions, construction is expected to take approximately 16 months.

All residents of the street Alt-Nied will be contacted shortly and informed in detail about the further construction process. Access to the properties will be possible for pedestrians at all times. For passenger vehicles, this will only be possible to a limited extent. In the event of an urgent need - such as a move - the construction company should be contacted. Any necessary diversions will be signposted on site. Safe travel to school will be ensured at all times by traffic safety measures, this is particularly true for the start of school after the summer holidays on Monday 6 August.

It is intended to set up at the construction office container at the police station a grievance mailbox for residents. Here there is the possibility to make criticism and comments - but also praise - about the construction process.
