Tomorrow, Wednesday, the time has come: Frankfurt's "green living room", the Palmengarten, will be open to the public again. At last, we can once again enjoy the splendour of the plants and take a relaxed stroll through the extensive area - just in time for the first spring flowers to blossom! However, as was the case after the first lockdown, there are still some restrictions to be aware of:
While the open-air area of the Palmengarten will be open to the public again as of Wednesday, the show houses such as the Tropicarium, the Palm House and the Entrance Show House will remain closed until further notice for reasons of infection control. Also the "Palmenexpress" will not resume its operation for the time being. In addition, it is compulsory to wear a medical or FFP2 mask on the entire grounds. All this may contribute to the fact that an ideal visit to the palm garden is not possible - but it is nice to have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place again. At least as long as the Hesse-wide incidence is below 100!
Timings for a visit are available directly from the ticket offices at the entrance. Online reservations are not available (for now).Visitors have the option of choosing between two time slots: Until March 27 (winter time) from 9 am to 12:45 pm and from 1:15 pm to 5 pm. From 28 March, with the start of summer time, from 9am to 2pm and from 2.30pm to 7pm. The time slots are mandatory. 1000 guests can be admitted to the Palm Garden per time slot.
The name, address and telephone number of visitors must be left at the ticket office before admission. They will be recorded by the point of sale or admission solely to enable the tracking of infections.
For the time being, access to the Palm Garden is also only possible via the Palmengartenstraße entrance. The turnstiles are not active.
