Restrictions in local traffic due to Frankfurt Marathon

(kus) On Sunday, October 29, buses and trains will give priority to the approximately 25,000 runners of the <link https: www.frankfurt-tipp.de veranstaltungen s event mainova-frankfurt-marathon-2017.html _blank>Frankfurt Marathon. The race will start at 10 a.m. at the Festhalle, where the finish line will also be by 5 p.m.

The marathon route - it runs on both sides of the Main - between Frankfurt city centre and Höchst, touches the bus and tram network in many places. Therefore, not only is car traffic affected, but numerous tram and bus lines are also affected by interruptions or diversions from around 6.30am to 6.30pm.

S-Bahns and U-Bahns: unimpeded, more frequent, with more space

For those who want to get on without disruption on Sunday, RMV and traffiQ recommend travelling with S-Bahns and U-Bahns, which will run unimpeded and therefore according to schedule.

On the S-Bahn lines S1 and S2 between Hauptbahnhof and Höchst, RMV will operate additional trains from 10 am to 4.30 pm. In addition, numerous S-Bahn trains on lines S1 to S6 will offer more space thanks to additional carriages.

Longer trains will also be on the underground lines U1 to U8. In order to get to the start at the Festhalle and back without any problems, the U4 underground line will even run every five minutes between Bockenheimer Warte and Seckbacher Landstraße.

The underground lines U1, U2, U6, U7 and U8, the tram lines 11, 12, 16, SEV 16E, 18 and 21 as well as the bus lines 32, 34, 43, 50 and 72, which already run every 15 minutes from 8.00 every 15 minutes.

Up-to-date information

RMV and traffiQ recommend passengers to inform themselves in good time about suitable connections. For example, the staff at the RMV service telephone can help - they can be reached around the clock at 069/2424-8024. The timetable information on the Internet at <link http: www.rmv.de _blank>

also takes the changed timetables into account.

For information on closures and diversions of motor traffic, the citizens' telephone can be reached at 069/7575-41700 and 7575-41701.
