As should be common knowledge, schools and daycare centers have closed throughout Hesse as of today. But also in other facilities in the city, there are drastic restrictions. The city of Frankfurt has now issued an overview of the current changes (as of Monday, 16.03.2020). However, these are not to be considered final, as they are adjusted andäquat due to the very dynamic situation of the respective situation.
Kindertagesstätten und Kindertagespflege
The state of Hesse has ordered that from Monday, March 16, until the end of the Easter holidays on April 17, there will be no more childcare in crèches, kindergartens and after-school care. This applies to all providers and also to care in day families (Kindertagespflege). The only exceptions are children where both parents or a single parent are in the following:
- Health care, medical and nursing
- Emergency services, civil protection and fire brigade
.- Police and correctional sectors, including correctional and similar sectors
- Critical infrastructure (energy, water, wastewater, IT and telecommunications)

All parents who belong to the professional groups mentioned are already asked to bring proof of their professional activity to the day-care centres and children's centres. You will receive separate information as soon as possible about the facilities where your child will be cared for in the next few days. Until then, they are asked to bring their child to the facility where they have previously been cared for.
Care cannot be provided for a child if they
- are ill
.
- has contact with infected persons
- has been in a risk area within the past 14 days.

To protect the elderly, the recommendation is to avoid having grandparents care for children.

Schools and extended school care
The Hessian Ministry of Culture has ordered that from Monday, March 26, no regular classes will be held at all schools until the end of the Easter holidays on April 17. On Monday, students as well as teachers will be able to get their personal belongings and learning materials out of school, and from Tuesday, only emergency supervision in small groups will take place.
The written Abitur exams are to take place. In addition, several make-up dates will be offered so that all students can take their exams and graduate in the current 2019/2020 school year. More information on the conduct of the Baccalaureate is expected soon.
All field trips, student exchanges, class trips that were scheduled to take place by the end of the 2019/2020 school year will be cancelled. This includes all school trips and extracurricular events, regardless of whether the destination is classified as a risk area. The state of Hesse will cover the cancellation costs charged by the organizer.
Origin-language classes in Saturday schools that use school rooms on weekends will also not take place until April 17. The same applies to sports and other clubs that use rooms in schools for their offerings.

Can't care for a child if he or she
- is sick
- has contact with infected persons
- has been in a high-risk area within the past 14 days.
Students returning from a risk area classified by the Robert Koch Institute must maintain a 14-day quarantine before returning to care.
City Library
Starting Monday, March 16, the City Library will close its public libraries to the public. The traveling library will cease operations. All events will be suspended. This preventative measure is initially scheduled through April 19. School libraries will proceed according to the decisions of their respective schools, and will also remain closed until April 19.
Lent items will be automatically renewed. Overdue fines will be suspended. Advance reservations will remain in effect. Media can be returned at the return machines at the Central Library and in Sachsenhausen. The digital services of the public library from Onleihe to PressReader will continue to be available.
stadtRAUMfrankfurt
From Monday, 16 March, the stadtRAUMfrankfurt closes its public spaces to the public. Events in the stadtRAUMfrankfurt are canceled up to and including April 10. The AmkA-Info will also be closed until then, but can still be reached by phone. The AmkA will contact associations and groups that have booked rooms directly. Appointments for individual consultations are still possible.

Volkshochschule
All events and courses at the adult education centre will be cancelled or suspended up to and including April 10. This also applies to the integration and German courses. The courses will be made up at a later date if possible. If this is not possible, the VHS will offer another accommodating arrangement for those affected. The Adult Education Centre will inform its participants directly about further details from Monday, 16 March.
In addition, no face-to-face counselling sessions will take place and customer service at the VHS Sonnemannstraße, the VHS Centre North (Nordwestzentrum) and the VHS Centre West (BiKuz) will remain closed up to and including 10. April closed.
Music School
The Frankfurt Music School will not hold events such as open auditions, specialist group concerts, regional concerts, children's concerts and open days until further notice. Classes will also be suspended, analogous to the schools, from March 16 until April 17 for the time being. Administration will also be closed to the public.
Children's Bureau
The Frankfort Children's Bureau will not hold any public events until further notice. This also affects the Family Info Cafe, which is held on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Children's Bureau offices and is also closed until further notice. The telephone clearing consultation will take place to the usual extent.
