U4 only runs to Hauptbahnhof, U5 only to Konstablerwache
And again construction work on the U4/U5 line. This time, the VGF is renewing the smoke barriers in the Messe station area. The work starts on Thursday, 25 October, between the stations Hauptbahnhof and Bockenheimer Warte. It will last until Saturday, 27 October. From Sunday, 28 October, the U4 and U5 lines will run as scheduled again.
During the period from Thursday, 25 October, approx. 2 a.m., to Saturday, 27 October, approx. 1.30 a.m., the routes of the U4 and U5 will be shortened due to the construction work. On these days, the U4 line will therefore only run between the main station and Seckbacher Landstraße. The stations Festhalle/Messe and Bockenheimer Warte as well as the stations between Enkheim and Seckbacher Landstraße will not be served. Between Preungesheim and Konstablerwache the U5 line runs its regular route, the following stations Dom/Römer, Willy-Brandt-Platz and Hauptbahnhof are not served.
Passengers are asked to switch to the U7 line (towards Enkheim) and tram line 16 (towards Bockenheimer Warte). These lines will run more frequently during the construction work. Passengers on the U5 line towards Hauptbahnhof are asked to change to the U4 line at Konstablerwache.
So, be prepared to experience longer travel times due to the service disruption.
