Rheingau Wine Market on the Freßgass

From August 28 to September 6, the Freßgass in Frankfurt will once again be the setting for the Rheingau Wine Market. During these ten days, the popular shopping street will be transformed into a pleasure mile that attracts wine lovers from all over the region. The wine market offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich variety of wines from the renowned Rheingau, a wine region west of Frankfurt, right in the city center.

A total of 27 winegrowers present more than 600 different wines and sparkling wines at the Rheingau Wine Market. In addition to the well-known Riesling, which is particularly fruity and fresh this year, visitors can also taste a wide selection of Pinot Noir, Blanc de Noir, Rosé, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc. Rheingau Wine Queen Viktoria Wolf highlights the quality of the 2023 vintage and emphasizes that the wines convince with a harmonious fruit acidity and an excellent maturity-acidity ratio.

The wine market is characterized by its relaxed atmosphere without loud music or elaborate supporting program. Instead, the focus is on the wine and its producers. Thomas Feda, Managing Director of Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, is looking forward to the festival and invites everyone to enjoy the excellent wines of the Rheingau in a convivial atmosphere.

The opening of the 44th Rheingau Wine Market will take place on Wednesday, August 28, at 6 pm at the Freßgass fountain. The ceremony will be attended by City Councillor Tina Zapf-Rodríguez, Head of the Department for Climate, Environment and Women, the Rheingau wine majesties, Frankfurt Wine Queen Lena Roie and TCF Managing Director Thomas Feda.

In addition to the wines, culinary specialties from the gastronomic neighbors of the Freßgass will ensure the physical well-being of the guests. The Rheingau Wine Market is open daily from 11 am to 11 pm and, thanks to the central location of the Freßgass, is easily accessible by public transport via the Hauptwache S-Bahn stop or the U6 and U7 subway lines
