RheinMainCard: For little money criss-cross through the region

(kus) "With the RheinMainCard, the city and the region continue to grow together. The new experience card connects people, places and creates real proximity. This successful cooperation project makes the distances even shorter and presents the city and the region as a tourist destination with high recreational value," says a delighted Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann. Together with District Administrator Burkhard Albers, Professor Knut Ringat, Managing Director of Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund and Thomas Feda, Managing Director of Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt, the new tourism cooperation project of the FrankfurtRhineMain region was presented. The new experience card connects people and places - whether for shopping in the city or hiking in nature, the new card makes residents and tourists more mobile and links cultural and leisure facilities. "For two days, visitors and locals can experience and explore FrankfurtRhineMain with over 40 destinations," says Knut Ringat. "It has never been so convenient to explore the region as with the RheinMainCard." The card costs 22 euros for one person and 46 euros for a group of up to five people. It is valid throughout the entire RMV region. In addition, the card grants discounted admission to numerous leisure institutions throughout the region, such as the Hessenpark open-air museum, the Opelvillen in Rüsselsheim, the Wiesbaden Museum, Frankfurt's Palmengarten or Erbach Castle. "The project is the culmination of our many years of effective cooperation," emphasizes District Administrator Burkhard Albers, Chairman of the FrankfurtRhineMain Tourism Working Group. For many years, the working group has set itself the goal of jointly promoting tourism marketing in the region and exploiting synergies. "We live in one of the most diverse regions in Germany, and we need to show that and make it accessible," explains Thomas Feda, Managing Director of Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt.

Deputy RMV Chairman Ulrich Krebs (CDU), District Administrator of the Hochtaunuskreis, stresses how important it is for the RMV to connect the core tourist regions of the Rhine-Main area to the metropolitan area. "The winter dream weather of the last few weeks has shown how many people have used local public transport to travel to the Feldberg region at weekends."
