Right of way for runners - buses and trams make way for the half marathon

Yes, where are they running? For the 16th time, the Frankfurt Mainova Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 11. Start and finish is the Commerzbank Arena. On the course, which runs through Niederrad and Sachsenhausen, numerous roads will again be closed between 10 am and 1 pm. Tram lines 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18 as well as bus lines 46, 51 and 61 will operate on a restricted basis.

The easiest way to get to the Commerzbank Arena is via the S-Bahn station Stadion. The S-Bahn lines S7, S8 and S9 stop there. S-Bahns and U-Bahns in Frankfurt will run unimpeded and according to schedule.

Trams only on partial routes

Tram line 12 will only run between Hugo-Junkers-Strasse in Fechenheim and Bürostadt Niederrad from 10am to 11am, while line 15 will only run between Haardtwaldplatz and Hauptbahnhof (south side) from 10am to 12pm. Line 16 runs between Ginnheim and Oberrad via the Altstadt route instead of Sachsenhausen. Line 17 runs from 10:30 to 12:30 from Rebstockbad to Hauptbahnhof (south side) and is replaced by line 14 between Louisa and Neu-Isenburg. Line 18 will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. between Gravensteiner Platz, Konstablerwache and Zoo.

Bus lines with restrictions

Bus line 46 will run until 12:30 p.m. only between Römerhof and Hauptbahnhof. Line 51 runs from 10 am for one hour only between Höchst Bahnhof and the Morgenzeile stop in Goldstein. Line 61 runs from about 10 am to 12 pm only between the airport and Triftstraße.
