Inthronation of the wine queen Marilen I

With the Lohrberger Hang, the Main metropolis has its own vineyard, the 1.3 hectare vineyard is one of the easternmost foothills of the Rheingau in terms of location. After all, the city owns its own wine estate, which is already more than 200 years old and which produces the famous Riesling "Frankfurter Lohrberger Hang". Now, following the proclamation of the new "Frankfurt-Rheingau Riesling Route" last year, a wine queen has now been officially crowned.

"The winegrowers of the Rheingau Winegrowers' Association and our tourism chief Thomas Feda have convinced me," said Mayor Feldmann. "It is finally about time that Frankfurt gets a wine queen like other wine towns. Marilen I is a competent ambassador for the Frankfurt Riesling, the local viticulture and our successful tourism", the Lord Mayor explains the initiative of the Tourismus+Congress GmbH (TCF).

The Rheingau Wine Queen Stephanie Kopietz crowned Marilen Maul on Monday, January 23, at the municipal winery in the presence of Feldmann and Feda. The first Frankfurt Wine Queen wears a specially designed shimmering gold crown on her head, symbolizing the Frankfurt city skyline.

Marilen I will participate in numerous events from TCF throughout the year. "We have found an enthusiasm in her that will positively promote the Main metropolis, the region and the wine", Thomas Feda is sure. She will appear at trade fairs, right at the beginning of her term at the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin or visit Frankfurt festivals. "On the occasion of the Rheingau wine market, our new wine queen will open the festival with her "officemates" from the other Rheingau regions," Feda said.

The Rheingau wine queen is happy about the addition. "Frankfurt and the Rheingau belong together, the wine connects us". A year of unique experiences, unforgettable moments and encounters awaits her colleague.

Marilen Maul is full of energy: "It is a great honour for me to be able to present Frankfurt and the Riesling", says the 26-year-old law student. She will approach her office with commitment and also enjoy it, because wine is exciting and full of passion.
