Safe into the new year with bus and train

(ffm) On New Year's night, RMV and traffiQ are offering more bus and train journeys than ever before with their new night service. Six S-Bahn lines, four U-Bahn lines, four tram lines, 15 Frankfurt bus lines and other buses in the region offer the best connections. They will be supplemented this night by additional journeys on the U1 to U3 lines. However, several tram and bus lines will also have to be diverted or interrupted.

Trams and buses on the move without a break

The S-Bahn lines S1 to S5 and S8 will run hourly. The underground lines U4, U5, U7 and U8 as well as the tram lines 11, 12, 16 and 18 connect the city centre with the city districts every half hour. In Frankfurt, numerous bus lines are also on the move every hour or half hour.

In addition, the U1 line runs half-hourly all night on New Year's Eve, and the U2 and U3 lines offer additional trips from Heddernheim to Bad Homburg or Oberursel-Hohemark after the normal closing time.

Main bridges closed - tram and bus detour

For New Year's Eve, police will close several Main bridges in Frankfurt for safety reasons. This will affect tram, bus and night bus lines partly from 28 December to 2 January,: The tram line 18 runs on New Year's Eve only between Gravensteiner-Platz and Zoo and between Louisa Bahnhof and Südbahnhof.

The bus line 30 runs from 28 .December to 2 January, at times only between Bad Vilbel and Konstablerwache. On New Year's Eve, it will run from Bad Vilbel only as far as Friedberger Warte from 3:15 p.m. and will be discontinued altogether from 11:30 p.m.

Bus line 36 will run from Friday, Dec. 28, to Wednesday, Jan. 2, only between Westbahnhof and Konstablerwache and between Hainer Weg and Südbahnhof.

Bus lines 45, 48 and 64 will cease service at 11 p.m. Night bus lines n7, n62 and n63 will have to be diverted on the nights of 31 December and 2 January.

To get from "Hibbdebach" to "Dribbdebach" late in the evening and at night, traffiQ recommends using the underground and suburban trains that can cross under the Main without disruption.

Please inform in time

RMV and traffiQ recommend all passengers to inform themselves in time about their timetable on New Year's Eve. In addition to the printed timetables, information is available on the RMV service telephone 069/24248024, which is available around the clock, and at <link http: www.rmv-frankfurt.de>

Verkehrsinsel advises in the morning

The mobility centre "Verkehrsinsel" at the Hauptwache is open on New Year's Eve from 9.30 to 13.00 h.

Police advice for a safe New Year's Eve in Frankfurt

There will also be a security area on the banks of the Main this year. Admission will be granted at the bridgeheads of the Eiserner Steg starting at 21:00 each night. For everyone's safety, there will be checks at the entry points.

The following items will not be allowed in the security area:

- Fireworks of category F2 or larger

- Bags and backpacks with a capacity of more than 3 liters

In addition, there will be a Mobile Guard on the north shore near the security area. In case of emergency, please speak to the police officers on site or dial 110 immediately

There will be restrictions on road traffic in the city centre area due to road closures. More information on this can be found on our website and via our Twitter account @Polizei_Ffm

In order to be able to react quickly to specific events throughout the city, the Frankfurt police have set priorities. The security area along the Main River has been reduced in size compared to last year, so the number of police officers deployed in that area will be somewhat reduced. On the other hand, an increasing number of offences have been recorded in other parts of Frankfurt in recent years, for example in the Platensiedlung. The Frankfurt police have reacted to this in their planning and also in terms of personnel. Against this background, at least as many police officers will be on duty throughout the city for the safety of the population as in previous years; both uniformed and civilian.

In this spirit, come well and safely into the new year!!!
