Second lockdown: weekly markets remain open, flea market is suspended

Now the time has come: As of today, Monday, the new version of the Corona Contact and Operating Restrictions Ordinance (CoKoBeV) also comes into force in Frankfurt, which initially applies until Sunday, 31 January 2021. This means that bars, pubs and similar establishments in particular are to be closed up to and including 30 November. Pubs and other businesses will be allowed to offer food and drink for collection or delivery, subject to conditions, until the end of Monday, November 30.

The weekly markets and the Small Market Hall will remain open to ensure the supply of food to the public. However, there are restrictions here as well: However, the consumption of food on site is temporarily not possible. Food and drinks may also be offered at the markets and in the Kleinmarkthalle only for take-away, so that minimum distances required by the authorities can be guaranteed. Seating facilities for customers at the weekly markets will therefore no longer be provided.

Visitors will be reminded by notices to observe hygiene rules. This is particularly about encouraging people to take advantage of the wide range of food on offer at the markets. However, longer counselling sessions and contacts are to be dispensed with.

The Frankfurt flea market, which currently could only take place fortnightly in Lindleystrasse at the Osthafen anyway, while the flea market at the Mainkai has been on pause for months, will no longer take place as an event until further notice. If it starts again here, we will keep you informed of course.
