Showmen collect packages for the homeless

Successful gift drive at the Frankfurt Christmas Market

This Friday, 15. December 2017, members of the Frankfurt Showmen's Association, together with the Brotherhood of Capuchins at the Liebfrauenkloster, collected Christmas gifts for the homeless at the Frankfurt Christmas Market for the 26th consecutive year. An appeal was made in advance to the citizens of the city: they did not take long to make up packages and hand them in on the Christmas market stage on Römerberg. In this way, a whole truckload of presents was collected. Frankfurt's Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann, who was this year's patron, and Brother Michael from the Franziskustreff accepted the gifts on the Christmas Market stage.

"We collect for people who are on the sidelines and have no roof over their heads. It's great that so many gifts are donated every year, because the homeless are not only happy about the gesture, they are also sometimes in urgent need of the contents of the gifts," says co-initiator Eddy Hausmann.

The collected donations will be distributed to the needy by the helpers of the Franziskustreff on Christmas Eve
