Sonya Kraus becomes ambassador for the Frankfurt Oktoberfest

Who would have thought that the Frankfurt Oktoberfest, which was held ten years ago in front of relatively few visitors and accompanied by many critical voices, would be so successful after a decade. Most critics - at least those who have attended the festival - have long since fallen silent and sold-out event days are the rule rather than the exception - and often shortly after pre-sales began. One person who was initially rather critical of the Frankfurt Oktoberfest is TV presenter Sonya Kraus. The Frankfurt native, who also lived in Munich for a long time, has long since revised her opinion. Not only that: for the event's tenth anniversary, she has even taken on the task of ambassador for the Frankfurt Oktoberfest. A task the hr-"maintower" presenter is already looking forward to - and not only because it gives her the opportunity to get her beloved dirndls out of the wardrobe once again.

From September 12 to October 7, the Festhalle Hausmann at the Commerzbank-Arena is all about traditional costume fashion, schunkel fun and Hessian-Bavarian cuisine. And of course, the official BINDING festival beer will not be missing when a total of 23 events bring the marquee to the boil. With it are Frankfurt-proven mood makers such as Mickie Krause or Roy Hammer and the Pralinées, also new highlights such as the party and cover band The Hangover. The great Jimmie Wilson is also back, supported by "weather girls" Dynelle Rhodes and Dorrey.

There will be a few changes in the tent for the anniversary. In addition to a foyer with reception and cloakroom, gallery 1 has been divided into so-called "alms". These separated areas with 50 seats each are especially attractive for larger groups and companies. Otherwise, visitors can once again look forward to what has made the Frankfurt Oktoberfest so popular in past years: Great Oktoberfest fun in a family atmosphere. No wonder that more than 60% of the tickets have already been sold. Since some events are already completely sold out, you should quickly secure your seats if you also want to visit this year's Frankfurt Oktoberfest. It pays to be quick, because the Saturdays are already sold out - and experience shows that the popular Festzelt boxes for groups of up to 40 people are also booked up quickly.

After the traditional opening of the Frankfurt Oktoberfest with the tapping of the barrel by Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann, Sonya Kraus and celebrities from show business, politics and business on 12 September, this year's ambassador is also looking forward to swaying and singing along: "Unbelievable but true - I've never been to the Frankfurt Oktoberfest before and now right away as an ambassador - that makes me proud!" The well-known presenter, actress and author became famous 20 years ago as a lucky fairy on the show Glücksrad (Wheel of Fortune) and went on to lead numerous talk and show formats on television. She authored entertaining "Baustellen" bestsellers and made her first appearance as a DJane at the Hessentag in 2011.

There will be a children's program at the popular Sunday morning pours and also on October 3, German Unity Day. In each case from 10.30 to 16.00 o'clock the small ones can enjoy themselves well cared for with play and fun, while the parents can enjoy themselves in the festival tent.
