Starting signal for the new construction of the Eintracht Centre at the Commerzbank Arena

Now the excavators are biting: Since Thursday, May 24, the preliminary work for the new construction of Eintracht Frankfurt's professional camp at the Commerzbank Arena is in full swing. First of all, the tennis hall, the administration building, the centre court and the playing fields have to be demolished. This will then create the conditions for Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG's planned construction of a new centre for professional players at the Commerzbank Arena. The support of the project by the city is a clear matter for Markus Frank, head of the sports department, not only against the background of the cup victory: "The success of Eintracht Frankfurt is also an opportunity for our city - that is why we are happy to support Eintracht Frankfurt," said Frank at the start of the construction work.

At the same time, a tennis offensive for tennis courts and tennis halls in the city districts with an investment volume of around ten million euros was launched in coordination with the Frankfurt Tennis District and the Frankfurt tennis clubs. Head of Sports Frank naturally does not only want to promote football and therefore stated: "With these measures, we are strengthening the tennis location Frankfurt as a whole - the preservation of the sporting diversity in Frankfurt is important to us."

Axel Hellmann, Chairman of the Board of Eintracht Frankfurt, added: "We are delighted that the breaking of the excavator today will make the redevelopment of the site and the construction of our new professional campus possible. We want to further strengthen our competitiveness in the Bundesliga with a modern infrastructure."
