Stephan Postert to be new head of city treasury

Magistrate appoints successor to Thomas Rautenberg

(ffm) The former head of the controlling and budget department will become the new head of office of the City Treasury of Frankfurt am Main. This was decided by the Magistrate at its meeting on Friday, June 8, on the proposal of Mayor and City Treasurer Uwe Becker. In an internal and external tender process, he was able to prevail over nationwide competition.

"I am delighted that the City of Frankfurt am Main has been able to recruit Dr. Stephan Postert, an outstanding leader, to head the City Treasury. With his extensive knowledge and experience gained through many years of working in the City Treasury, he brings with him the best prerequisites," emphasizes Mayor and City Treasurer Uwe Becker.

The 54-year-old has been working for the City of Frankfurt am Main since 2002, first as a department head in the City Treasury and since 2013 as department head of the Controlling and Budget Department. The most important components were the sub-project management of the introduction of asset accounting with SAP as part of the "Doppik" introduction and thus the valuation of all assets of the City of Frankfurt am Main as well as the project management "Concept and introduction of participatory budgeting for the City of Frankfurt am Main".

Postert succeeds Rautenberg on August 1, 2018. "Dr. Rautenberg has provided valuable services to the City of Frankfurt am Main. On behalf of the City of Frankfurt and also personally, I would like to express my sincere thanks to him for his dedication and commitment," concludes Mayor and City Treasurer Uwe Becker
