Where local transport passengers can expect restrictions
(kus) In summer, and even more so during the holidays, fewer people travel by bus, train or car. That's why necessary construction work on roads and tracks likes to be carried out during the holiday season. The upcoming summer holidays are no different. As reported, there will be more than 50 construction sites in Frankfurt am Main this summer. The municipal public transport company traffiQ and the VGF have now compiled which construction measures are of importance to bus and tram passengers:
Since 24 April: Refurbishment of Offenbacher Landstraße in Oberrad. Tram 16 runs as far as Balduinstraße. Buses run as rail replacement service (SEV) between Südbahnhof/Bruchstraße and Offenbach city limits.
Until 31. July: Stop "Oberschweinstiege" of line 17 direction Neu-Isenburg out of service.
July 1 to 30: Track construction between Heddernheim and Dornbusch. SEV buses are in operation. Please avoid the construction site.
1 to 10 July: Closure of the Oeser Straße level crossing in Nied. Bus route 59 will be diverted via Mainzer Landstraße. Shuttle buses will run between the stops "Heusinger Weg" and "Waldschulstraße"
July 3 to 11. August: Due to road works in Berkersheimer Weg, lines 63 and 66 have to be split.
July 17 to 31: Track works at the Hugo-Junkers-Straße tram turning loop. Tram line 12 trains continue to Schießhüttenstraße in Fechenheim.
July 31 to August 13: Closure of the tram line between Uni-Klinik and Triftstraße or Haardtwaldplatz. Tram lines 12, 15 and 21 and bus line 51 are affected. SEV buses are in operation.
July 31 to August 13: Track construction between Nied and Höchst. Tram lines 11 and 21 can only go as far as Nied Kirche. SEV buses will provide the connection to Höchst.
19 and 20 August: For the acceptance of the new signal box, the lines between Industriehof and Ostbahnhof or Enkheim will have to be closed for a weekend, the underground lines U4, U6 and U7 cannot run there. Substitute services will be announced in good time.
August 28 to September 10: Due to track construction work, the U7 line can only run between Hausen and Eissporthalle. The U4 line will provide the connection to Enkheim.
traffiQ and VGF will provide detailed information about all bus and train restrictions and will, of course, ensure that passengers can still reach their destinations.
