For the popular cider fair, which takes place on 26 March in the Gesellschaftshaus in the Palmengarten, the makers have come up with something very special this year. In order to show not only on the one day of the fair, but also in the run-up, how international the love for cider is and that cider can be much more than just the guude Stöffche. The model for this event is Cider Week, as it takes place in New York or Chicago. Here, shops and restaurants all over the city are involved, offering special menus, tastings and events around the delicious droplet. Of course, Frankfurt is still a long way from that. But with five exciting tastings at special locations, a good start has already been made.
After the starting signal on 21 March in the Buchscheer, where cider will meet Scotch, follows on 22.03. in Daheim in Lorsbacher Thal a Stöffch'reise through eight countries. On Thursday, 23.03., you can explore the great variety of traditional ciders in Jens Becker's cider shop. On Friday, Cyril Zang will present ciders from Normandy at Cool Climate. And the finale will be a tasting of the finest seccos and sparkling wines at the Apfelweinkontor on Saturday, the day before the fair.
There are really a lot of new things, unusual combinations and true taste explosions to discover. So if you want to broaden your horizon in terms of cider, you shouldn't miss these exciting tastings.
