40 sports on land, water and in the air in the Brentanobad and the stadium at the Brentanobad
With a parachute jump directly into the stadium at the Brentanobad starts on 01 July at 13 clock the sixth FamilySportFest. But even though the jump by three-time World Cup winner in gymnastics Eberhard Gienger is guaranteed to be spectacular, this is only the starting signal for a day full of sporting highlights. With around 40 different types of sport, this is probably the largest selection of the most diverse offers to be discovered in one place in Frankfurt. With hands-on activities and demonstrations on land, water and in the air, the 2017 FamilySportFest will be even bigger and more varied than in previous years. On a health mile, visitors will learn about performance diagnostics procedures such as lactate tests and receive advice for their individual training program. Enjoying and feasting is the order of the day at the trendy food truck area. The FamilySportFest is intended for everyone who wants to try out sports and exercise or simply enjoys a day outdoors with food, drink and entertainment. On top of that, festival-goers get free admission to the swimming pool.
With the Brentanobad as part of the event area, the festival is well equipped for a wide variety of water sports. As with the sports on land, the programme on water is also varied. For example, the BäderBetriebe Frankfurt (BBF) will be offering aqua cycling and gymnastics, while the Eisenbahner Sportverein (Railway Sports Club) will enable visitors to explore the pool by canoe. The TG Bornheim offers a water gymnastics programme for adults and children. On land, in addition to popular offers such as volleyball and tennis, smaller sports such as bouncing ball and trend sports such as jumping fitness will be part of the programme. On the stage in the stadium, there will be performances as well as guided classes on Zumba, Aikido and fencing.
The FamilySportFest also has a number of highlights up its sleeve outside the stage and hands-on programme: for example, the Bad Nauheim and Frankfurt sports clinics will be presenting procedures from performance diagnostics, exercises on brain fitness and brain jogging, as well as on modern sports nutrition. Culinary variety will be on offer at the festival's new food truck area. With a range from Asian to Oriental, there should be something for everyone. For the youngsters, there will be face painting for children in addition to the many games and exercise opportunities. And anyone coming to Rödelheim on 1 July by bike can take the opportunity to have it coded at the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrradclub (ADFC) by presenting the proof of purchase.
