The Festival4Family 2018 in Frankfurt's Commerzbank Arena

Frankfurt - The planning for the Festival4Family 2018 is in full swing. On May 21, 2018, Frankfurt-based Trifels Verlag will transform the Commerzbank Arena into a fun and games paradise for families. More than 120 hands-on activities, brand-new highlights and star guests await visitors. In addition to a go-kart track, a kettle car race, a virtual roller coaster ride, a children's carousel, the children's theatre fairytale stage, the sports stage with performances by clubs from the region and a bouncy castle landscape, Frankfurt's major museums such as Senckenberg, Experiminta Science Center and the German Film Museum will also be on site with great activities for families.

hr3 Morningshow host Tobi Kämmerer will welcome on stage, among others, Ritter Rost author Jörg Hilbert, Jonah, the winner of this year's season of the KiKa show Dein Song, celebrity chef Mirko Reeh as culinary ambassador of the tourist destination Italy and many more. There will be numerous stands in the arena and on the grounds outside: Maya the Bee will be making a stop at the Festival4Family as part of her Junior Tour - and will also be bringing along Wickie, the children's hero. Doll mums can visit Baby Born, video game fans the Nintendo stand with Super Mario & Co. The My Little Pony friendship tour also starts at Festival4Family in Frankfurt. The largest Star Wars costume club in the world (501st Legion German Garrison), Ghostbusters Germany, Fireman Sam as well as Elsa, Anna and Olaf from "The Frozensquad" will be on hand for cool photos with the kids. The Festival4Family will be celebrated on Whit Monday from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is free.

There will also be plenty on offer for children and adults outside the arena. Here are the large sports stage and actions of clubs of the Sportjugend Frankfurt and the Sportkreis Frankfurt. As sporting highlights, those interested can take part in the football tournament organised by the Hessischer Behinderten- und Rehabilitations-Sportverband (HBRS e.V.). On the children's theatre stage, the Galli Theatre, among others, will create a colourful fairytale programme throughout the day.

At the 12th Trifels children's painting competition, all children between the ages of four and 14 are invited to create a picture on the theme of "Off into nature".

With a big tombola and a charity sale, visitors will have the opportunity to support the work of the three charity partners Bärenherz Stiftung, Frankfurter Kinderbüro and Stiftung Lesen throughout the day. The patronage of the festival has been taken over by the Prime Minister of Hesse, Volker Bouffier, and the Mayor of Frankfurt, Peter Feldmann. The Festival4Family will be celebrated for the eighth time in 2018 and is one of the largest family festivals in Germany. Together with many regional and national partners, Trifels Verlag would like to use the festival to draw attention to children's rights and make an active contribution. ("Children have the right to rest and leisure, to play and active recreation appropriate to their age, and to participate freely in cultural and artistic life.", Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child).
