Frankfurt has a new attraction for photo enthusiasts and visitors: the "Frankfurt Selfie-Point". Stadtmarketing Frankfurt and the Dachverband der Frankfurter Gewerbevereine e. V. (umbrella organization of Frankfurt's trade associations) have jointly implemented the project to make the city even more tangible with a creative photo installation.
The official starting signal for the selfie point will be given with a symbolic push of a button by Lord Mayor Mike Josef, Annette Rinn, Head of the Department of Public Order, Ernst Schwarz, Chairman of the Dachverband Frankfurter Gewerbevereine, and Eduard M. Singer, Head of City Marketing. The unveiling will focus attention on Frankfurt's uniqueness and encourage visitors to take special souvenir photos.
The selfie point consists of large lettering "F R A N K F U R T", which will be displayed on Paulsplatz in the coming weeks. Residents and tourists will have the opportunity to take special photos here until the end of February. But that's not all: after its premiere, the lettering will go on tour in various parts of Frankfurt. It will be set up at festivals and squares to give even more people the opportunity to immortalize themselves with the iconic lettering.
The idea behind the project is to strengthen the connection between Frankfurters and their city and at the same time create a new attraction for visitors. The selfie point is intended to emphasize Frankfurt's charm and dynamism and serve as a modern meeting place for young and old.
With this innovative project, Frankfurt is setting another example of creative city marketing and strengthening local identity.
