Glaab´s Grie Soß awarded gold and Glaabsbräu Pilsener awarded silver
Congratulations: Glaabsbräu, the oldest brewery in southern Hesse and one of the most innovative breweries in Germany, can once again enjoy a high-quality award. At the renowned World Beer Award 2020, the brewery was awarded gold in the category "Flavoured Beer - National" for the Hessian brewing speciality "Glaab´s Grie Soß" and silver in the category "Best Lager German-style National" for the "Glaabsbräu Pilsener". At the competition, a total of 80 international beer experts tasted over 2000 diverse and unusual beer specialties from all over the world. These awards are all the more significant for Glaabsbräu.
"The World Beer Award is one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world. To be number 2 in Germany with our Pilsener fills us with great pride and state winner with Glaab´s Grie Soß we see as recognition for our innovative spirit," said head brewer Robert Glaab and brewmaster Julian Menner.
Glaabsbräu brews each of their beers individually according to their own recipe with natural aroma hops and the highest quality raw materials. The beers are all-natural, with no additives, no chemical stabilizers, and color beer. Thus Glaabsbräu brews their beers more demanding than the purity law. The brewing process is overall Co2-neutral and drinking water-saving.
The brewery is an attractive destination in the Rhine-Main area with 6,000 visitors a year. The brewery tours can currently only be offered in a shortened form, but are still very interesting, entertaining udn definitely recommended! In addition to the classic beer assortment, Glaabsbräu also offers craft beers and brewing specialties: "Vicky loves Pale Ale", "Hopfenlust", "Reifeprüfung", as well as the seasonal regional specialties "Glaab´s Stöffche" and "Glaab´s Grie Soß". Glaabsbräu is a member of the DEHOGA association's "Hessen à la carte" initiative and a founding member of the Free Brewers, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019.
