Traditional festival beer tasting for the 11th Frankfurt Oktoberfest

Traditional festival beer tasting for the 11th Frankfurt Oktoberfest

It has become a nice tradition: A few weeks before the start of the Frankfurt Oktoberfest, the official festival beer is presented. Of course, this can only come from a real traditional brewery: from Binding! For the eleventh edition of the Hessian-Bavarian Wiesngaudi in the marquee at the Commerzbank Arena, the Frankfurt brewery from Sachsenhausen has once again brewed a special beer. And that this year again extremely well succeeded, of it now the first Oktoberfest fans could convince themselves at the festival beer tasting in the Frankfurt Wirtshaus am Mainkai.

The honor of the tapping of the first tasting barrel was given to the singer Dee of the cult formation Weather Girls. She - together with US singer and musical performer Jimmie Wilson - not only performed the cult hit "It`s raining Men", but also got to tap the very first keg of Festbier 2019. And not only Dee was thrilled by the taste of the beer.

No wonder, since the festival beer from Binding is brewed strictly according to the purity law exclusively from water, malt and hops. For a particularly noble taste, however, brewmaster Peter Winter comes up with a fourth ingredient: "The addition of yeast in the brew gives the beer a complex character and a full aroma over the course of the long storage time." The typical amber color is due to the higher degree of roasting of the malt used. From the opening of the Oktoberfest on 11 September, Binding's Festbier will also be on tap at selected catering partners, but only for a short time.

Of course, the best way to enjoy Festbier is in a great atmosphere in the festival tent. That goes this year from 11 September to 6 October. You want to be there? Then you'll have to hurry, because nine of the 23 events are already sold out. For three and a half weeks there will be celebrations, swaying and singing in the marquee at the Commerzbank Arena - with the active support of Frankfurt Oktoberfest ambassador Janine Kunze. Also in the party program are proven acts such as Mickie Krause, Roy Hammer & the Pralineés, as well as the Trenkwalder, new on the Oktoberfest stage are OLI P. as well as the Schlagermafia with Ingo without Flamingo.

In addition to the evening events, there are five Frühshoppen, each on Sunday mornings and on the Day of German Unity, October 3. Tickets for all events that can still be booked are available online at www.frankfurter-oktoberfest.de, by calling 069 407662 580 and at all known advance booking offices.
