There will be extensive road closures in the Frankfurt city area on Thursday, 1 May, for the traditional cycling classic "Eschborn-Frankfurt". In addition to car traffic, numerous tram and bus lines will also be affected. S-Bahn and U-Bahn services will remain largely unaffected.
The finish line of the cycling event is located at the Alte Oper, which is easily accessible by U-Bahn (lines U6 and U7, Alte Oper stop) and S-Bahn (lines S1 to S6, S8 and S9, Taunusanlage stop).
Unterrains and trams with restrictions
The U3 line will only run between Südbahnhof and Oberursel Bahnhof between 9 am and 1.30 pm. There will also be changes to the trams: Lines 11, 12, 14, 16 and 17 will only run on partial routes or will be diverted on the public holiday. For some sections - for example on line 11 between Hugo-Junkers-Straße and Schießhüttenstraße - rail replacement services will be provided by buses.
Many bus routes also affected
Many bus routes, including routes M32, M34, M36 and routes 29, 50, 58, 64, 75, 89 and others, will run shorter, on different routes or at different intervals on this day. Line 75 will be cancelled all day. Passengers can expect longer journey times and alternative stops in some cases.
