Some of this work will take place in parallel: From Friday, April 12, about 6 p.m., to Monday, April 15, about 3 a.m., track construction work on Eckenheimer Landstraße will cause an interruption of the U5 line, and buses will be used here as rail replacement service (SEV). Since the Adickesallee/Nibelungenallee intersection is closed due to the work, three bus routes must also be rerouted. From Saturday, April 13, around 4 a.m., until Thursday, April 18, 2019, around 3 a.m., the lighting will be renewed in the tunnel of the U4 line - the work will take place in two phases.
Line U5: Due to track construction only north of Alleenring
From Friday, April 12, about 6 p.m., to Monday, April 15, about 3 a.m., the line U5 does not run between Hauptbahnhof and Hauptfriedhof. Between Konstablerwache and Marbachweg/Sozialzentrum, an SEV will be set up. The replacement stops are in close proximity to the original stops, at Konstablerwache the buses depart in front of the department store C&A.
Between Konstablerwache and Hauptbahnhof, in addition to S-Bahns and trams, the U4 subway line is also available as a replacement on Friday evening. However, with the start of work on the tunnel lighting on Saturday, 13 April, around 4 o'clock, the U4 line will also no longer run on this section.
Line U4: Renewal of tunnel lighting continues
The work on the tunnel lighting, which began on the first weekend of April, will continue. From Saturday, 13 April, about 4 o'clock, until Monday, 15 April, about 3, clock, the trains of the line U4 therefore only run between Hauptbahnhof and Bockenheimer Warte and between Konstablerwache and Seckbacher Landstraße. On the latter section, a shuttle train is in use, which leaves in both directions on the track towards Konstablerwache.
Between the city center and the main station, as usual, the suburban trains and the tram line 12, which is more frequent during the day on Saturday, offer alternative travel options from Konstablerwache. Lines 11 and 14 are also available from Börneplatz. Enkheim can still be reached with the U7 subway line. The U7 line will continue to serve as a substitute during the second construction phase from Monday, April 15, around 3 a.m., to Thursday, April 18, around 3 a.m., and will then run with additional cars. During this period, the U4 line will only run between Seckbacher Landstraße and Konstablerwache. A shuttle train will continue to operate here. Between Konstablerwache and Bockenheimer Warte, the then again running line U5 can be used, which will be extended beyond the main station to Bockenheimer Warte.
Bus lines will be diverted
During the track work on the U5, bus line 32 as well as the night bus lines n4 and n41 can be used from Friday, 12. April, about 6 p.m., to Monday, April 15, about 3 a.m., the intersection Adickes-/Nibelungenallee can not pass and take a wide detour: in the direction of Westbahnhof, the line 32 from Nibelungenplatz around the main cemetery via Friedberger Landstraße, Gießener Straße, Eckenheimer Landstraße to Adickesallee. In the opposite direction, they as well as the night bus lines n4 and n41 take a detour from Hauptfriedhof via Glauburgstraße to Friedberger Landstraße. The stops "Richard-Wagner-Straße" and "Nibelungenplatz" are cancelled.

Road traffic: full closure Adickesallee/Nibelungenallee
Due to the track works, the Adickesallee/Nibelungenallee intersection is also fully closed to road traffic. The connection west-east and vice versa will not be possible, on the north-south axis there will be lane reductions.

Small-scale detours will be in place via Friedberger Landstraße, Giessener Landstraße, Marbachweg and Eckenheimer Landstraße and Hansaallee, Bremer Straße, Eschersheimer Landstraße, Marbachweg, Giessener Straße and Friedberger Landstraße. Cyclists and pedestrians can pass the construction site.
