VHS Frankfurt presents its summer programme

Off on holiday - or to the VHS! For those who want to use the summer months for continuing education, the Frankfurt Volkshochschule offers a wide range of summer courses. Among the approximately 350 courses in the months of June to August, those interested will find courses in the areas of society, culture, health, languages, careers, as well as offers specifically for young people or senior citizens.

A new feature is the venue: 50 of the summer courses will be held for the first time in the new VHS Centre North in Frankfurt's Nordwestzentrum. On the program are Photoshop, Indesign or office applications of Microsoft Office. You can also practice English in conversation courses, attend a Latin American week or upcycle children's clothes on the sewing machine in the creative room. Pupils have the opportunity to learn the 10-finger typing technique on the PC during the last week of the holidays. The program also features a variety of offerings to get moving or relax.

But it's not just for the brain that there are training opportunities here. There are also some exciting offers for the body in the VHS training rooms in the BiKuZ Höchst or in the VHS Center in Ostend. In Höchst, you can also attend an information evening on the sports boat licence or take part in a course on Focusing, a method that trains the ability of self-awareness.

In Ostend, a variety of language courses (European and Asian languages) in different formats - intensive courses, weekend courses, educational holidays, conversation, reading and writing training - are on the program. Many languages are designed as intensive and compact courses, so that a language level can be learned in a relatively short time by attending successive courses. In summer, the VHS centre in the Ostend also offers photography and painting courses, some of which are held on the roof terrace as a large studio. And if you want to do something for your health, you can choose from a wide range of sporting activities. Support and strength for the body can be practiced in gymnastics, fitness and relaxation courses. A large part of the programme is devoted to professional knowledge and skills for this. This can include courses on computers and the Internet, spreadsheets, presentation, blogging, web design, public speaking and management.

With the VHS, knowledge acquisition is also possible in the open air. Excursions and walks lead in all four directions: to the north, for example, with a Niddawanderung and to the east with a tour towards the Osthafen. In the south there is a tour of the grounds of the Frankfurt stadium and in the west a district tour of Griesheim. In total, there are around 20 guided walks and hikes on the programme.

The direct route to course registration is via the website <link http: www.vhs.frankfurt.de _blank>Http://www.vhs.frankfurt.de . You can also get personal advice and register directly - at Sonnemannstrasse 13 in the Ostend, at the VHS-Zentrum West in the BiKuZ Höchst or at the VHS-Zentrum Nord in the Nordwestzentrum.

The VHS can be reached by phone at 069/212-71501 or by e-mail at <link>vhs@frankfurt.de .

The program is available to take away free of charge at the event locations, which include the VHS headquarters at Sonnemannstrasse 13, the VHS Center Höchst (BIKUZ), Michael-Stumpf-Strasse 2, the Bockenheim VHS location at Leipziger Strasse 67, the multigenerational house at Idsteiner Strasse 91 in the Gallus district and the VHS Center North in the Northwest Center, Tituscorso 7. Further displays can be found at the City Information Office, offices of the City of Frankfurt and in numerous bookshops and libraries
