A traditional place of hospitality returns to the limelight: With the opening of The Florentin, the latest addition to the Althoff COLLECTION, the former Villa Kennedy in Frankfurt is being given a new lease of life. Bookings are now being taken for stays from 1 November 2025 – a significant milestone in the repositioning of one of the city's most prestigious addresses.
Digital opening marks the start of a new beginning
"It's always a special moment when a hotel opens its doors for the first time – even if it's only digital at first," explains Boris Messmer, General Manager of the hotel. The booking approval marks much more than a technical step: "Our first guests will be part of a special chapter – they will accompany us in the early days of a hotel that uniquely combines history and the present."
From a banker's villa to an urban retreat
The history of the hotel dates back to 1901, when the Villa Speyer – later known as Villa Kennedy – was built for the distinguished von Speyer banking family. With the new name The Florentin, Althoff refers to the heart of the ensemble: the magnificently designed inner courtyard, which symbolises tranquillity, growth and renewal.
The concept of an "urban retreat" – a luxurious retreat in the middle of the vibrant Main metropolis – pervades the entire building: 147 rooms, including 98 deluxe rooms and 18 suites.u0022>98 deluxe rooms and 49 suites, combine classic materials such as oak, marble and travertine with contemporary aesthetics and high functionality. The Bar with its curated selection of wines, spirits and cocktails, as well as the elegant Cigar Lounge, are aimed at guests who are looking for something special in terms of enjoyment. For rest and relaxation, there is a spacious spa area with an indoor pool, sauna, fitness area and five treatment rooms.
