Wild Sunday - Water life in the ramparts

In 2019, the beautiful series ‚Wild Sunday' will again be offered during the summer holidays, where visitors can experience culture at special places in the city. On the third 'Wild Sunday' of the year, it's off to the ramparts. Here, Rosemarie Heilig, Head of the Department for the Environment and Women's Issues, invites visitors to a guided tour and a piano concert. Anyone who wants to experience both should come to the Lucae Fountain in front of the Alte Oper on Sunday, July 14, at 3 p.m.. From here, historian Björn Wissenbach will set off on a tour of some of Frankfurt's most beautiful fountains. Under the motto "Water Life in Frankfurt", he will introduce the Florentine Fountain at Nebbien's Garden House and the Medusa Fountain in the Bürgergarten of the Eschenheimer Anlage.

From here it is only a few steps to the saasfee*pavilion. Here, in the creative meeting place for new trends in art and music, Petra Luise Kämpfer will be playing piano works by Clara Schumann and Fanny Hensel from 4pm. Both exceptional artists emancipated themselves as women from the expectations of their time and pursued their vocation as pianists and composers. What they had in common was a strong spirit of discovery, a creative drive and a great love of music. Clara Schumann lived in Frankfurt for 18 years, the 200th anniversary of her birth.

The moderated concert can also be attended independently of the guided tour. Admission is free, and no registration is required. The pavilion is located in the backyard of Bleichstraße 66 and is not barrier-free. saasfee* offers refreshments.

At the previous Wild Sunday on July 7, 80 guests listened to guitarist Heike Matthießen at the Historisches Klärwerk Niederrad. The following date of the summer series is then aimed at families with children: On Sunday, July 21, children's author Mara Andeck will read water scenes from her best-known books at the Tannenwald water playground.
